About BHG
Life often contains unexpected events and difficult challenges that leave us feeling lost and unsure. Grief, trauma, relationship struggles, life transition, work-related issues, addiction, existential or spiritual doubts, and persistent feelings of guilt, shame, and inadequacy. These experiences can be demoralizing and defeating but also provide an immense opportunity for growth.
This is where therapy enters the picture. I believe therapy is a transformative journey of self-discovery, personal awakening, empowerment, and healing. I provide a relaxed and nonjudgmental space to get the tools you need to navigate life with greater clarity, ease, and resilience.
I work with adults and specialize in men’s issues, anxiety, addiction, depression, anger management, and traumatic backgrounds. I view therapy as a collaborative effort and use multiple therapy approaches, including CBT, DBT, Afro-Centric perspective, Person-Centered, Solution-Focused, and Mindfulness Therapy.
Clinician Therapist
I specialize in issues of anxiety, depression, relationship management, anger management, coping skills, men’s issues and traumatic backgrounds for Individuals, Couples and Families. I use multiple therapy approaches, including Afro-Centric Perspective, CBT, Person-Centered, Solution-Focused, and Mindfulness.
Afrocentric Perspective
The Afrocentric Perspective is defined as a way of seeing, reasoning, thinking, and understanding of the distinct nexus between the transmissions from Africa to America, which fractured, is nevertheless not to be neglected.
This method focuses on ways in which the African culture and African heritage affect the worldview, values and behavior of people, and takes into account the African origins of African Americans in America and America’s response to their quest for freedom, justice and equality.
